Where most fear the spaghetti sauce explosions on the ceilings, now days there are more safety precautions in place. But there are is still reason to be careful around devices with high intense heat and pressure.

Tips of Preserving Your Pressure Cooker

Check out these tips to protect your home (and yourself) when using a pressure cooker!

  • Make sure the cooker is being used properly and the equipment is in good condition. (Make sure the rubber gasket is not cracked or broken in the seal!)
  • Don’t put too much into the pressure cooker. Rule of Thumb is fill until 2/3 full.
  • Use some liquid, to create steam in cooking the food.
  • Be careful when using oil, as it can melt the gasket and erupt from the pot.
  • Make sure to release the steam before opening.
  • Clean the pot properly afterwards.
